The Docklands Project is a photographic research initiated in 2015. Starting point for the project were the fringes of the city, in the disused docklands of Amsterdam. As the project evolved it became an in-depth research into different systems that influence the transition of high profile cities of today. Focusing on the high demand for living near the water, the project tries to get a grip on shifting demographics, waterfront development and gentrification. The project has been supported by the Mondriaan Fund and by the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts. The work in each city has resulted in a sub-series which documents the site-specific identity of these areas.
