LONDON - WORK IN PROGRES
Docklands is an ongoing research, documenting the transition of former harbor areas in different cities. Focusing on the high demand for living near the water the project tries to get a grip on shifting social demographics, waterfront development and similarities within these areas.
While working in Amsterdam and New York for a longer period, Sem Langendijk is currently developing a third chapter in the project, focussing on the city that has perhaps transitioned their Docklands to a furthest stage, as a new hub for the commercial use of a city. In London, the high-rises and other waterfront developments are redefining a once desolate landscape. This body of work is not ready yet, the images show a glimpse of the series.
